Sensei Luciano and Sensei Marisa are co-owners of Dojo Tansei Arts Martiaux (Karate Tansei). Our karate school was established in 2006 and has gained popularity within our area due to our teaching methods. Our team of qualified instructors treat every student as their personal project.

Karate Tansei’s guiding principle is that values such as partnership, courtesy, determination and respect, fostered in children at an early age, will produce a physically and spiritually healthy next generation of adults. We emphasize on the values that traditional karate offers. Respect, discipline, determination, perseverance and focus help to develop confidence in character. We offer classes for all ages in both french and english.

Karate Tansei is affiliated with WKO (World Karate Organization) – Shinkyokushinkai headed by President Midori Shihan in Japan. This is a strong organization representing a noble BUDO (Martial Art), for it can be trained throughout life, and holds the role of strengthening and enriching one’s mind.

The mind, the technique and the body, necessary parts to nourish the spirit of martial arts.



Our Classes

Mini-Karate

Mini Karate 4 et 5 ans

4 to 5 years old

  • Classes are 45 minutes long and offered 2 times per week.
  • Our mini-karate classes are specifically designed for 4- and 5-year-olds. We introduce young children to karate with games and exercises appropriate for their age. The focus is on improving focus, and learning to respect and work with partners. This is a great way to prepare your child for school.

Kids

6 to 11 years old

  • Classes are 60 minutes long, offered 4 times per week and divided into 3 levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. This allows children to progress at their own pace and ensures they are engaged every step of the way to a BLACK BELT.
  • Our beginner level course designed for ages 6 to 11 years introduces the student to the traditional karate culture through the physical aspect of learning and practicing basic techniques (kihons), forms (katas) and fights (kumite), and the essence of martial art to learn to respect fellow students, and oneself. Our karate classes will assist each student to develop discipline and improve self-confidence, as well as promote fitness. This is done through exercises and drills appropriate for their ages.

Teens and Adults

12 years old and up

  • Classes are 60 and 90 minutes long, offered 4 times per week and divided into 3 levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced.
  • Our classes emphasize on the different elements of karate: Traditional basics (kihon and ido-geiko), forms (kata), fight conditioning and sparring.
  • We also have specialized training classes for all levels which include self-defense, tameshiwari (breaking seminar), and weapons training.

High Intensity Interval Training

HIIT is considered one of the most effective training to maximize calories burned in less time! The exercises are performed rapidly between cardiovascular and muscular activities at medium and high intensity (YOUR MEDIUM AND HIGH INTENSITY). This makes the muscles demand for more oxygen and that maximizes the burned calories. By optimizing oxygen intake, you conserve muscle, build lean muscle, and burn more calories during and after training.

ADVANTAGES OF HIIT TRAINING :

  • Senseï Luciano Paparella started training in Kyokushin Karate since 1982. Karate is a passion and a way of life for Sensei Luciano. He has participated in many seminars around the world to enrich his knowledge and understanding of the essence du karate.

Marisa Leone, Sensei, (3rd dan)

  • Sensei Marisa Leone started training in Kyokushin karate in 2002 and participated in many competitions, usually ranking first three places. Sensei Marisa has been actively involved in their dojo along side her partner in life Sensei Luciano since 2006.
